David has presented programmes on Radio Enfield since 1970 and during his 43+ years at the station has been Programme Director, Station Manager and is currently Chairman. As well as spinning patients' requests, David has interviewed many local voluntary organisations and individuals, and has been thrilled to meet and interview many of his heroes from the 1960s, including Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits),Gerry Marsden (Gerry & The Pacemakers)and Clem Cattini (The Tornados).
David's interest in radio dates back to the 1960's offshore radio stations such as Radio Caroline, Radio London (Big L) and Radio 390.
With a group of friends, some low-powered local pirate stations were set up in the mid-1960's which eventually led to the setting up of Radio Enfield at Chase Farm in May 1970.
David is a member of the Radio Academy.
